Health Promotion

You may be aware of our services and how they provide baseline data about the health related issues from local communities for programme and service planning e.g. JSNA.

We are best known for our lifestyle surveys and have over 30 years experience of carrying out local population surveys that cover a broad range of subjects including: smoking, diet, alcohol consumption, drug use, physical activity, fitness, safety, accidental injury, self reported health, sex and relationships and use of medical services.

We would like to call your attention to some developments in how we are improving our services, including:

  • Obtaining information from sections of local communities about specific issues e.g. people's knowledge of contraception, STIs and local service provision
  • Use of new online data collection method, with customisable software to produce local results in comparison to a regional/national profile
  • Development of local community profiles using our survey data in conjunction with information from other sources including local poverty indices
