Fit to Succeed - history and development
Fit to Succeed began as a partnership between the children of Exeter, Exeter Academic Council, Exeter City Council, Devon Curriculum Services, the Schools Health Education Unit and DC Leisure Management, to promote physical activity and achievement in schools.

The pilot surveys in the city of Exeter: resulted in a degree of publicity: you can read our press release or our first report and 2002 report.

A grant was received from 'Right Fit' to develop a web-based survey about active living this has become fully operational with in excess of 9000 students completing the questionnaires online in 2007.

If you are:
  • working with young people
  • have access to the Internet
...you will be able to collect, anonymously, information about their exercise habits, attitudes and influences.

This information will let you know what young people in your area are doing, before during and after any promotion work you are doing with them:
  • Collect baseline data
  • Monitor
  • Evaluate
When the young people have finished the survey they get:
  • Immediate feedback on their results
When your group has finished the survey you get:
  • Immediate display of the aggregate results
  • No individual can be identified
After the surveys are over you can:
  • Receive an e-mail report in word-processed format
  • Ready to add your comments
  • Tables and Charts to include in other reports you may have to write
